Service Description

Get hands-on with different art forms, learn from the masters, and create work that could be featured in real exhibitions! Each class will be a dynamic exploration of media with the instructor and other students to develop an artistic voice. Whether you're a beginner or already making your mark, these one-day intensives are a great way to dive deep, meet other young creatives, and build your portfolio. --- 🖼️ June 23 – Art Appreciation: Past, Present & Future Step into the art world and see it through a brand-new lens! We’ll explore iconic moments in art history, connect them to what's happening now, and imagine what’s next. Learn how artists shape culture—and how you can too. > “Fear of the present leads to mystification of the past.” – John Berger Includes: Critical discussion, visual analysis, and mini creative exercises. --- ✂️ July 1 – Intro to Collage Rip it, cut it, glue it, remix it! Discover the dynamic world of collage using paper, photos, and mixed media. Get inspired by artists like Hannah Höch and experiment with layering meaning through images. > “I use [photographs] like color, or as the poet uses the word.” – Hannah Höch Includes: Hands-on collage making, art history moments, and mixed media mashups. --- 🎥 July 8 – Intro to Filmmaking Turn your phone into a movie studio! Learn the basics of storytelling, shooting, and editing short films, plus get a taste of experimental cinema. Leave ready to make your own mini masterpiece. > “The kinds of films I make are more like poems.” – Stan Brakhage Includes: Smartphone filmmaking, storyboarding, cinematic inspiration. --- 🗿 July 15 – Intro to Sculpture Think big! Think bold! We’ll create freestanding and wall-based sculptures using a range of materials (clay, wood, other media). Explore form, space, texture—and the ideas behind famous sculptural works. > “To see is to think, and to think is to see.” – Richard Serra Includes: Studio time, 3D construction, and material exploration. --- 🎨 July 22 – Intro to Painting From portraits to abstraction, dive into the powerful world of paint. Experiment with different techniques and discover how artists from the past and present express ideas on canvas. Includes: Guided painting exercises, exploration of different styles, and group critique. --- ✨ Bonus!
